The Next Generation: Champion of Champions and the JTTA Grassroots Push

If you want to see the future of Jamaican table tennis, look no further than the JTTA Prep & Primary Finals — “Champion of Champions”, where the island’s youngest stars battle for age-group singles honours and a first taste of the big stage.

A deliberate strategy

The youth showcase is the visible tip of a wider, intentional push. The JTTA recently appointed Aubyn Henry as Chief Strategy and Development Officer to build long-term programmes and commercial development, while a grassroots initiative is placing table tennis equipment in community centres across the island, with support sought from the Jamaica Olympic Association, the Sports Development Fund and corporate Jamaica.

It’s already producing

The pipeline is bearing fruit: Jamaica’s junior team returned with six medals from the 2025 ITTF Caribbean Regional Youth Championships in Bridgetown, Barbados. Community engines like the Pocket Rocket Foundation continue to push youth growth on and off the table.

The message from the Champion of Champions is simple: today’s prep and primary finalists are tomorrow’s national heroes.
