The table tennis hall at the SPEC Indoor Court, Mona, was one of the liveliest venues at the 2026 UWI Games — and the paddlers delivered when it mattered as The UWI Mona defended its overall title.
Mona defeated St Augustine 3–1 in a key tie, while Imani Edwards Taylor was named the table tennis Most Valuable Player for the Global Campus across an inter-campus field that featured Mona, Cave Hill, Global and a historic debut from The UWI Five Islands.
Mona finished atop the overall standings with 136 points (seven gold, five silver and two bronze across all sports) to retain the crown. The next edition of the Games heads to Cave Hill in 2028.
For Jamaican table tennis, the collegiate stage is an increasingly important pipeline — several of the names on show at Mona also feature on the national and club circuit.
